More than 35 years after his NFL career began at the age of 1987 Jackson can be seen on a digital cover of Madden NFL 22.

Prior to the unveiling of the cover, The Undefeated's Aaron Dodson caught up with Jackson to talk about his Tecmo Bowl days, how Bo Knows came to life and his Madden return, and much more. The conversation was edited to improve clarity and to length. What does it mean to you to be an official cover player for the game 35 years after the time your career started?
The idea has been in preparation intermittently for several years. The time had to be the right one for my brand. In collaboration with the Madden people to get things sorted out, make sure to cross all the i's, make sure that all the t's were crossed -when we had that completed buy madden coins, the rest was just a matter of going for it. I figured that, somewhere in my past I had done something right and could still be remembered as one of the greatest players from 30 years ago. Madden continues to believe in me to do something like this.
