A Shikara ride on the beautiful Dal Lake in Srinagar

Dal Lake in Kashmir is one of the most panoramic lakes in India. Last year, I got a chance to visit Srinagar with my wife and we both were amazed by the beauty of flowering gardens, magnificent structures, crystal clear lakes, and snow-covered mountain peaks in the heart of Kashmir.
One thing that I wanted to do in Srinagar was to ride in a Shikara (long wooden carved boat) while listening to my favorite song on my portable speaker. I love this tiny speaker of mine. I got it after doing a lot of research.
Engulfed in the heavenly view of serene Dal Lake, taking a ride on the ‘ Shikara’ (small wooden boat) is one of the most exciting activities to do in Srinagar. These wooden boats are seen widely on the Srinagar lakes and are majorly used for getting to and fro from the houseboats for daily travel or stunning boating tours for travelers. As soon as, I and my wife entered this long boat, we were impressed by how well these were maintained and also equipped with all necessary safety parameters, like lifebuoys and life jackets.
A ride in Shikara provides a unique experience to witness the beauty of Dal Lake and its surroundings. We were totally lost in the beauty of this serene place. That's when I realized why it’s called "paradise on earth." I would recommend all travelers to visit here once in their lifetime.
