Introduction To The Manufacture Of Threaded Rods And Eye Bolts

  • Custom Screws We have discussed a lot about the various types of custom screw options available to us, from our micro screws to our custom Threaded Rods And Eye Bolts. But a topic that has never been discussed is how we create these tools, or how to create screws in general.

It seems very difficult to create a custom screw the size of a miniature screw, or a durable Delta PT screw (50% increase in torsional and tensile strength). However, the truth may surprise you. Making screws with the right tools is not that complicated. But before we start talking about custom screws or triangular screws, we need to understand the basics.

How are the screws made? : The initial screw is usually made of low to medium carbon steel wire, although this material can replace other cheap metals such as brass, nickel alloys and aluminum alloys. However, the quality of the metal must be high to avoid cracking and breaking in the screw.

If the screw is surface-treated, it needs to have compatible cosmetics. Steel can be coated with zinc, cadmium, nickel or chromium for extra strength and protection.

    Manufacturing process: basic knowledge
How are the screws made? Using multiple methods, smaller screws or uniquely designed screws can only be manufactured through a "machining" process. Compared with the process of manufacturing other screw types, the machining process is accurate, time consuming and more costly. Most screws are manufactured using the "thread rolling" method, which is used in mass production.

We will start with thread rolling.

Silk The process starts with "cold heading", where the wire is fed into a pre-straightening machine. Then cut the straightened line to a specified length, and then cut the head into a pre-programmed shape. This is how the screw produces many changes in its head. The machine can produce 100 to 550 screw blanks in one minute.

After this operation is completed, feed the blank screws into the thread cutting machine and sequence them correctly to ensure that they are in the correct position for feeding. Then cut them in various ways to provide the threads you see on the screws. This may take two to three rounds or through the machine before creating the required threads.

The process is very similar because it has many of the same principles, except that it requires more expensive machinery to tighten the screw changes. For example, they must be very precise to tighten micro screws, or perform different calibrations to create custom shouldered bolts. The thread cutting and head creation process is very similar to traditional screws, but requires a more precise machine.

Because of this precision, the process may take a long time.

Although you now understand the basics of how Hexagon Flange Bolt manufacturing works, there is more to it. Hope you have a general understanding of this process and how we create our custom screws. They are designed specifically for your project and it takes a lot of time to do this.
