Cleanroom Wipes Manufacturer's Cleanroom Wipers Use Science
Step 1: Cleanroom wipers are designed to be used in a very specific way. To open one, the first step is to grab it by the edges, avoiding contact with any surface, to create a neat fold in the middle. Next, rotate the wiper 90 degrees and fold it in half again so you now have a total of four faces available.
Step 2: While it's a natural urge to work on the dirtiest parts of a contaminated surface first, this approach can further contaminate and waste your wipers. Best practice dictates that any area should be cleaned from least to most stained, using each side of the wiper once.
Step 3: After the initial stroke, turn the wiper over and use the next side to do the same, making sure to overlap the first stroke to prevent recontamination. Don't forget: each stroke should be unidirectional and parallel to the previous one - never wipe in a circular fashion.
Step 4: Refold the wiper so that the used surface is contained and the two remaining cleaning surfaces are exposed. Repeat steps 2 and 3, always being wary of using overlapping unidirectional strokes.
Step 5: When all four initial sides have been used, the wiper can be opened again and refolded so that the unused side now creates an additional four clean sides. That way, one wiper is enough for a total of eight strokes—four on each side.
