Seasons change gradually in the real world, but in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, they change at the drop of a hat. Fall officially began on September 1st in-game for those in the Northern Hemisphere, and it will last until November 25th, giving players plenty of time to make the most of the season change.
Players will be able to participate in a variety of season-specific activities spread throughout the fall to give them something new to look forward to as the months progress.
How to Plant a Pumpkin Patch
One of the many reasons to return to ACNH items for the new season is the ability to grow a pumpkin, which is a traditional autumnal food. Starting in October, pumpkin seeds can be purchased from Leif, as well as from the cabinet in Nook's Cranny. Their colors develop into four distinct shades: orange, yellow, white, and green.
It is possible to make an island look more in tune with the season by planting pumpkins in a patch and sprucing up the area with fencing and other decorations, while the pumpkins themselves can be used in certain DIY recipes.
Make Crafts for the Seasons
During the fall, there are three miniature'seasons' of crafts that are made available. First and foremost, acorns and pine cones begin to appear, which can be shaken loose from trees between September 1st and December 10th. Following that, pumpkin-related DIYs are made available, and recipes that make use of the pumpkins that players grow can be found in balloons or by speaking with villagers. In New Horizons, the mushroom season begins shortly after Halloween, and throughout November, a variety of different types of mushrooms can be found growing at the base of trees. There are numerous aspects of fall that can be replicated in New Horizons, including recipes made from acorns, pine cones, pumpkins, and mushrooms. Furthermore, foraging for materials appears to be a very seasonal activity in and of itself.
Try on some Halloween costumes and see how they fit.
Animal Crossing provides players with a diverse selection of clothing options that are available through the Able Sister's all year long, and the fall season offers the opportunity to get more creative with a character's appearance, particularly when free ACNH bells comes to Halloween costumes. In addition to the many ready-made costumes available for purchase, there is also the option to create something from scratch using the Custom Designs app in order to recreate the feeling of wearing something that was made at home. Furthermore, a player's appearance can be altered using a mirror in order to accentuate their appearance, with options such as blue and green skin providing more spooky appearance options.
Find and catch new fish and bugs.
The changing of the seasons also brings with buy bells animal crossing new horizons a slew of new critters, fish, and sea creatures to the Animal Crossing islands. The beginning of September heralds the arrival of species such as the cherry salmon and the golden trout, the latter of which can be sold for a whopping 15,000 Bells. Among the creatures that have returned to islands this season are butterflies, and all of these additions give players the opportunity to further fill out their Critterpedia while also donating new findings to Blathers at the museum.
Nook Shopping is a convenient way to purchase seasonal items.
Aside from the numerous seasonal items that are available through DIY, players can find even more limited-time items by visiting the special items section of Nook Shopping, which can be accessed either through the app on a player's NookPhone or through the kiosk in Resident Services.
There is a cute grape harvest basket available to purchase throughout the month of September in celebration of the Grape Harvest Festival, and with other season-specific items appearing now and then, it's always worthwhile keeping an eye on Nook Shopping.
