Curtain rod Manufacturers says that the thought of hand-washing a shower curtain is enough to send a shiver down anyone’s spine. After all, it's like boxing with shadows! The good news is, most shower curtains are machine washable! (To be sure, refer to the label).
What you’ll need
1 tablespoon of laundry washing powder
3 tablespoons of white vinegar
10-15 drops of tea tree oil
2 old bath towels
Access to a washing machine
Step by step
Remove your shower curtain. Take it off the rail and make sure to remove all the rings and/or hooks that are used to hold it up. (This is to avoid damaging your washing machine).
Washing machine time. Head over to your washing machine and throw in the shower curtain along with the 2 towels before adding washing powder and a loaded cup of white vinegar.
Pick your cycle. Set the washing machine to the most delicate cycle available with a maximum temperature of 30°C (for 100% cotton, you can increase the temperature up to 60°C). If your washing machine allows you to select only the type of fabric, we recommend setting it to "delicate" with a cycle of at least one and a half hours.
Remove it from the machine. Take your shower curtain out once the cycle has finished and hang it up in a place that will allow it to dry out completely. Once dry, hang it back up in your bathroom and you’re good to go!
