There's lots of new content with Episode 5 to help keep players active, and the narrative goes back to being centered around ARKS and fighting with the Dark Falz. Alongside all these exciting new features, new items and Scratch Tickets will also be out, and fresh Urgent Quests will be on how to PSO2 Meseta freshen up things in PSO2. There are still many details to be revealed as time goes one, but a few major things like combat and the planet are much clearer. Hiro Arai out of Sega was live for almost an hour to show off footage of gameplay and speak about what new items are on the way. Not much was said about the current game and the update coming alongside NG's release other than the graphical upgrade, which is looking great.
Maps are no longer divided up into areas with loading screens. NG is going to have completely open world from the home base to the field. The TGS footage showed a gorgeous new world that's a significant update from the current game. Arai mentions that distinct areas can be reached easily by simply traversing the world. It looks like this is the world Naberious in the present game, with woods being adjacent to tundra and other regions. Areas continue to be technically divided up, but there is no loading between them. While it has not been directly mentioned, an open world such as this implies there may not be single party places . Most shown in the footage were multi-party regions where there were other players. The cap for multi-party areas has been lowered to eight down from twelve at the present PSO2, but that you see will differ from area to area.
Weather is creating a better comeback since it affects dynamically and can impact the battlefield, although the size of the impact was not spoken of. Time may also change, and footage showed some nice touches such as fireflies in the forests at night. There's no word on quick travel, mounts or vehicles nevertheless, but Sega has implemented several new methods for players to move quickly across this large new universe. Players will be able to run faster after a dodge both in and outside of battle. A blue streak follows underfoot, so you'll know you are doing it right once you watch it.
The other important addition to movement shown off in the first NG trailer is the slide. It goes as far as some of the screenshots have made it seem. Players can get to high ground and leap off to slide and get pretty damn far through the map. Like in Breath of the Wild, you'll have the ability to make you're way up a mountain to slide off from -- but without anything alerting you enjoy stamina. It will also make for some dramatic entrances in to conflict. Sega mentioned that crafting and gathering would be getting an overhaul, and while we did not get a look at crafting, we did see how much nicer it is to snag items in the specialty. Gathering can be performed on the fly, very similar to Monster Hunter: World. Get close to an item, and just tap a button. Fruit can be harvested in trees, you will find fresh docile creatures that may be searched for buy Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta meat and other things and healing items are seen throughout the property as green luminous indicators called Resta Signs. It's a lot more intuitive than the current game.
