In New Horizons an Animal Crossing fan recreates the beloved Br

  • One of the many breathtaking locations from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been recreated in Animal Crossing: New Horizons thanks to the efforts of a dedicated fan.

In the image, created and shared by Reddit user @Naydinfar_Crossing, Tarrey Town from Breath of the Wild is shown side-by-side with the recreation, which includes elements such as the village itself, the circle of trees, the afore mentioned land bridge, and the expansive surrounding valley.

For Naydinfar_Crossing, this is not the first time a location from Breath of the Wild has been recreated in the Animal Crossing game world. Also included in their account are recreations of the Sacred Ground Ruins, Hyrule Castle, The Lost Woods, the Akkala Highlands, the Gerudo Beach, the Spring of Power, Lurelin Village, and the Bridge of Hylia, among many other locations.

This year's release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which was directed by Hidemaro Fujibayashi (The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword) and produced by Eiji Aonuma (The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds), was a critical and commercial success. The game was a financial and critical success, selling approximately 230,000 copies in its first week alone and taking home three Game Awards awards, including Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, and Best Action/Adventure Game, among other honors. Currently, work is being done on a follow-up.

Animal Crossing is a series of social simulation video games developed by Katsuya Eguchi and Hisashi Nogami that first appeared on the market in 2001. The first game sold over 2.71 million copies worldwide, and buy ACNH bells was recognized by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences with awards for Innovation in Console Gaming, Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, and Console Role-Playing Game of the Year. The most recent version, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, was released in 2020 and was nominated for Best Multiplayer Game and Game of the Year at the Game Awards that year, as well as winning Best Family Game.

Beyond Naydinfar_Crossing's recreation of Tarrey Town, Breath of the Wild has sparked the creation of fan-made content. While an artist's rendering of one of the game's more emotional moments from the Capture Memories quest captures one of the more emotional moments from the game, a new fan theory by ArtisanBubblegum on Reddit proposes that all previous Legend of Zelda games are actually dreams that Link has while sleeping at the start of Breath of the Wild.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available on the Nintendo Switch and Wii U, while the Animal Crossing games are available on a variety of platforms, including the Nintendo DS, Android, iOS, and the Nintendo Switch. The Animal Crossing games are also available on the Nintendo DS.
